Q: Can ALL my sins be forgiven through Jesus' death? KP, Minneapolis, MN

A: **Absolutely. That is what God does to us when we trust Christ: "Everyone who believes in him receives forgiveness of sins through his name." (Acts 10:43) If we believe in Christ, God no longer holds our sins against us. This is God's own testimony in the Bible: "I, I am he who wipes out your transgressions for my own sake." (Isaiah 43:25) However, remember, all sin is critically serious, not just the "big ones" like murder, rape, etc. All sin is against God. His glory is injured when we disobey or ignore him. The injury done to God's glory by our sin must be repaired so that in justice his glory shines more brightly. But Jesus entered the scene. That is why Christ suffered and died. Forgiveness costs us nothing. That's why we call it grace. All our costly obedience is the fruit, not the root, of being forgiven. But it cost Jesus his life! That's why we call it just. All our sins are forgiven when we believe, completely, in the ONE who was slain for our sins.

Q: Is it really possible for someone to live forever? ME, Omaha, NE

A: **Absolutely. We do not want to die in our happiest times do we? When suffering becomes unbearable, many teens contemplate suicide, or drowning their pain in alcohol or drugs, but that is when the coolest thing about accepting Jesus happens! Only he brings relief and life, not those destructive choices. You see, death is an enemy, because it cuts us off from the wonderful pleasures of life. Everyone, deep down inside, longs to live and to be happy. In Ecclesiastes 3:11, in the Bible, it tells us that God made us that way, "He has put eternity into man's heart." We are created in God's image, and God loves life and lives forever. You see, again, that is why Jesus came! The Bible says, "Whoever believes in the Son (Jesus) has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him." (John 3:36) The reality is that there is a hell, and many people will go there because of how they have treated God with their lazy and indifferent love for him. But on the amazing flip side, there is a heaven, where life is not merely the extension of this life with a mix of pain and pleasure, but Heaven is supreme and ever-increasing with joy where ALL sin and ALL sadness will be gone. In the Bible it also says, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined ... God has prepared for those who love him." (1 Corinthians 2:9) Why would you not want eternal joy, why not leap for eternal life today by embracing Jesus and the treasure he gives through the cross!

Q: I can't believe what I just witnessed in the Passion movie, can I be passionate for God, just like Jesus was, even if it means that I may die for those I love? RB, Phoenix, AZ

A: **In a world of lies and deceit, here is the truth of life. At the heart of Christianity, true, Biblical Christianity, we ARE forgiven, we ARE accepted by God, not because of our good works, but the truth is, when we believe in Jesus, that is what spurs us to be capable of great things and zealous to do good works and love others. Think about a spur for a second. What is a spur? You use them to get that blasted horse to run faster, and do what it was created to do, run faster, right? So, here is what I'm saying, God is spurring you on ... love others like Jesus, you were created to give God all the glory by praising his name, by believing in Jesus and what he did for you. You see Jesus said, "Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works (that God spurred you to do because of the gift of forgiveness through Jesus) and give glory to your Father who is in heaven." If we truly accept God's freedom through Jesus, completely, WATCH OUT, because passion is a comin'! Get a Bible, or get into one of the 20 you have at home, and pray with everything you've got! Christ died to make us this kind of people - passionate to help the poor and the perishing. It is the best life, no matter what it costs us in this world. Those who need this same message get help, we get joy, and God gets the glory!
